Blinded By Rejection

I fell in love with the silence,
because it's easier to adhere,
and you don't need a license,
to fake being sincere.

Although I still love when you ignore the truth,
it would have been appreciated for your fulcrum in these adversities,
so I guess that's why they called you aloof,
And will never accept your mercy.

So now I have prohibited promises, simply because I ran out of band aids.
And I will deny being afraid,
for the next decade.
I have accepted your wish to upgrade.
Maybe one day, I'll admit I'm permanently dismayed.

This poem is charming, not because of the rejection you address, but because of your honesty in expressing it in excellent poetic form. Well done!
