Blind Bird

Following the herd A blind bird Turning away With every nudge With every puff With every tick An invisible wall Obscuring the castles Among the clouds The endless sky Lies far away To its dismay The birds ahead Are the birds behind Trying to see The endless sky To find To unravel To justify To demystify The meaning of their lives The little bird Seemingly gay Witnessing the battles Of heart and mind To follow the herd Or go astray A cry for help Confined to the wall No one to listen To our little blind bird Following the herd

Even if you dont get many " coments" dont let that deter you....you already have a unique " sound..." I read quite a few poets here, and while Idont need to " copy " anyone, they are very good at different forms, so even free verse can have technique, rhythm, some internal rhyming...If you are a reader of well known poets, you will pick up i positive influences in their styles, and use that to enhance your work For now, you need to let your voice flow....write down lines as they come up. : )

Yeah definitely. Getting comments from others was never my intention. I just wanted to write and I got this platform where I could read others' poetry and use them as an influence. I need to improve and I aspire to do just that.

"Insight" into human nature, is something you definitely have...and that is what brings poignancy to your poetry. You are observant, and again,, your words flow freely, very naturally...I enjoyed the third stanza...( So happy that you have found your "voice." :-)
