"From birth, when I opened my eyes All I could see is a dark void An open space thats endless A world that was bare, my fresh canvas At first it was hard getting by Like the fact I'd never seen my mum I just felt her and learnt her scent And her steps when she'd walk towards me Imagine crawling and missing a step Or going over and still going on Cause I needed to learn on my own To get it right next time Imagine savouring the taste of food Enjoying it burst into flavour in the mouth Loving every bite, in a sensual way Cause your senses are heightened When I was able to stand and walk I was young but I has to use a cane Learning to point at things hoping that they move So that I could have an easy time getting round The first day in class when my hands touched braille I was overjoyed that I'd get to read Cause previously my mum was my eyes But now I had the world at my palms I might not know what the sunset looks like But I sure know how it feels like Cause my skin changes with any change around me And I need only feel, and that's why I understand nature more than man For trees speak to me when I move Birds sing to me when I stroll And everything on my path vibrates To let me know where they are The PO£T
