Blessings
It is a blessing to be surprised
by the familiar;
to notice a smile
that has always been there
and the softness of voice
of people who comfort and care,
to feel the gentle touch
of those who encourage and cheer
and the kindness in eyes
to whom one is precious and dear.
O God, these are the blessings
You send my way
let me always be aware of it
and grasp it each day!
