Blessed With a Pet
Originally meant to be transported as a Mother’s Day gift
Yet, Alillie … a lovable Doggie, remained with us due to travel rift
Giving each one, through her lovely mirth, a day’s cheerful lift…
…And since then, from our care, she’s never has been adrift.
Against deadly virus, she emerged the lone survivor
With guarded immune system, becoming a victor
Overcoming grievous pest as courageous warrior
Bearing Animal Welfare Society’s stamp of valor.
Midst her circumspect ardor is her prevailing sweetness
Delighting us by her petting graciousness
Enjoyed likewise by her family of mongrels in their closeness
Influencing cats and kittens around warm gentleness.
Maximizing well her motherly role, already proven
She feeds her new batch of bouncing pups in her haven
Exemplifying great nurturing, love-driven
Inspiring my life-building fervor that’s mercy and truth-woven.
Blessed to experience good relationship with pet of companionship-nature
I thank the Lord for great partnership --- bereft of selfish gesture
Indeed, Alillie is God’s gift, beautified along her tamed beast* culture
Showing gratitude while behaving well in her trained elegant stature.
