A Blessed Tryst The spiral staircase made her high heels sing The last stair to ground created a song off to her tryst to encounter a fling to seek an old church, her meeting would bring a plot on their scheme, for the day could be long as she continued her heels skipped a beat a chorus began, the melody strong a cold windy day, devoid of all heat from here the City churches pierced the mist the old church was close, the tryst was to end the shroud carried on, the wind slowly hissed she entered the nave and sought her new flame a door was ajar, he called out her name a confessional box was their rendezvous confessing his love, he held onto the door he closed it, and, now smiling, crossed the square left her to ponder the words he just swore once a priest who was no more to end his life with the one he adored One, Nine and Sixteen Contest Sponsored by Viv Wigley June 5, 2018
