Blessed By the Ride

Gentle and good, filled with life
That penetrated my soul
You never gave me any strife
But shared the dusty trail
Wise and warm, filled with insight
That left me with no worries
Your sincere love brightened the night
Strengthening my hopefulness

Happy and glad, filled with kindness
That lifted my heart from harm
You always gave me so much power
Leaving me grateful of your charm
Light and laughter, thrilling my soul
That whispered truth and peace
Giving me all the answers to dreams
That only caused joy to increase

Tears and fears would come some days
With all their doubts and mistrust
Still, you gave me love that would amaze
Leaving me feeling sure of my thanks
Dust and Dirt, muddy paths to go down
Sometimes led me to feel lost
But you were always bringing faith around
Despite my suspicions of being misled

You’ve been a horse that never left my side
And I’ve always felt blessed when astride
