Bleeding Profile

Sunset dips from a bay’s view

Its pulp so tangerine clear--

Releasing a minty froth.

As her crown bleeds on water

I watch a hazy profile--

A faded memory now

Tearing my chilling nightfall.

Methinks I feel a metaphor. On one level this is the scene of a searing San Francisco sunset, on another the lamenting soul of a lost love. The use of the word "tearing" in the last line, with its multiple meanings...Beautifully written
