Bleeding On Paper

If I bleed on paper,
is it really blood
or is it just words,
droplets of phrases,
splattered feelings
of this love coursing
through my veins for her,
coagulating into meanings
on pale parchment skin
leaving behind
heart shaped scars
that no one
will ever see?
