Bleeding Heart

My heart lay broken,
shattered on the floor,
like a red ruby
which had been dropped.

Impossible to repair,
but that's okay,
'cause I don't wanna love,
I don't wanna hurt again.

I love you
but I can't do it,
I can't forgive you,
'cause you tore me apart.

You lifted me up high,
higher than the stars,
but you knocked me down,
kicked my feet out from under me.

I wanna forget you,
but I can't, it's impossible,
because of my bleeding heart;
it still cries for you.

Walk away like you always do,
'cause I won't take you back.
You hurt me, made me cry
and I'm done with you.

Hi Cheyenne.Strong words, full of pain and anger.I liked the way this is written. And I'm sure anybody who's been hurt and betrayed by love will be able to empathise with these feelings that you have expressed so well.Love.it can lift you up to the heavens one minute then feel like hell on earth the next.Yet I'm sure you will agree we can't live without it. A true to life read.Thank you. Love June
