Bleeding Green

It’s such a shame
My skin bleeds red
I don’t like the color
Can it be green instead

Green like the thorns
That protect petty flowers
Can they protect me
For just a few hours

When I’m at my weakest
And in need of protection
To stay by my side
Throughout my dissection
