Notes About The Poem

© "Knots of Melancholy" by Jacek Solkiewicz

Bleak Landscape

alone
wrapped up in deep
melancholy I yearn
for the dark shadows to dissolve…
my doubts

Finding comfort (even confidence) in the darkness is a peculiar state of mind ... but there is a certain attractive anonymity about it. PS: I know they are supposed to be tree, but in that image they look like weird eldritch creatures!

My dear Paul, your short poem is so emotionally packed, even when dark, your adept artistry shines. It can be challenging to move beyond the shadow of one's doubt, and within that shadow is a dreadful place to be. It's so wonderful to read your gripping poetry, my friend. Warmest wishes and hugs.. ~Susan

Enough of Winter, enough of dark shadows - they bring a melancholy upon us which rests heavy on our shoulders - we yearn to see the sunshine through the trees, and dissolve our doubts. Awesome write Paul, you always say so much in your few words, a true master of poetry with your ink and quill. Warm regards, and hugs, Jennifer.

I must say it is a Gem dear friend Paul. You have created a beauty with some dark shadows, which normally surrounds our mind and heart and some rays of hopes too, which shows the changing mood of human nature. Great lines...it goes as my favourite too....With best wishes always.....Ravindra
