Blackened Silhouettes Fill the Sky
Gloomy was my mood already, my energy tapped
The shades refused any effort to let the sun in.
I had become a zombie all day emotionally strapped
Ready to snap and snarl without knowing why
The dog knew today would not be a win-win
I peeked to watch blackened silhouettes fill the sky
They appeared angry, unforgiving, and furiously mad
I opened the door once to let the snooty cat in
The three of us curled up in our blankets, determined to be sad
To waste a whole day like this is probably a sin
