The Whiskey Taster’s Flavor Guide

Black Mud, Grey Ash

Black Mud, Grey Ash

The water struck
and wiped a village
from the earth

A dreamland of golden wheat
gone in a single thunder

Trees stand empty
forgetting the lovers
under their shade

Silence waltzes
through the lanes
with destruction’s tune

Bangles
schoolbags
a lone flute
now ash
on the wind

And photos
hold our lives
breathing
in black mud

hello, Thank you for reading and for your appreciation. Most of my poetry blends realism with imagination. I write to give voice to people who face loss, grief, tragedy, and hard times. My work tries to show human suffering and the strength that survives it.

Very poetic verse on tragedy. Sorry if this is my first visit. I usually get back to commenters faster. Thanks for seeing my poem a few days ago
