Black Jesus ( For Chris )

Black Jesus ( for Chris )

God
Is a white man
So they would have you believe

His only born son
A white man to

Not Arab or *****

Though hailing from the dusty deserts
Of Palestine’s Arabia

More racially inherent the colour
And features bone structures
And skin would be tan, brown or black

Perhaps God
Was a Roman

And the interpretations of text
From Hebrew
A complex art
With all its parts of changing vowels
By the placements of a single point
Spells out different meanings
Placed on a word

But hey what the hell
We’ll interpret as we choose
And fit the bill
Clever little scholars of the future
We’ll bend the truth
Into a lie

This great and Holy foundation
Built upon cliché acceptance
Of a story lost in time
Through the twists and turns
Of intent to mislead
Away from this………

“The kingdom of God is inside you and all around you

Not in mansions of wood and stone

Split a piece of wood and I am there

Lift a stone and you will find me”

  The Gospel of Thomas

Words and monuments
Books and stained glass
Obedience and ritual

Gold adorns a cross in ridicule

Death and life
Heaven and hell
Reward and punishment

None of which can tell you
Or replace
Or translate
Your heart
And soul

God
Is a white man
So they would have you believe

His only born son
A white man to

Not Arab or *****

This is a masterpiece, Colin! I like to think of God as color blind. Nice dedication to a very talented poet and an admired member of the Soup family. Love, Carolyn

Hey, Colin, what is a preview box? What's the difference what color Jesus was or if Jesus ever was. the message is what counts. Read the message and you cannot go wrong. Hope this doesn't turn you off. You gotsta know, with religion I am WIDE OPEN! Love, daver

There is so much can be taken from this write, our scholars today still try to fine comb through the texts of old... How much could then still be lost to translations, however the main teachings of Gods love and His spirit remain the same, for the miracles of life continue under our very nose...Great muse, keep penning onwards poet....smiles and thanks for your most welcome comments on my writes, Anna-Marie.

Chris.. thank you so much... I think you made this man blush. It is an honor to stand up and fight the narrow minded injustices of this world.and I would stand side by side with you. In a hope someday to defeat the lies and deciets that have been foisted upon so many good and decent people. The one thing we can all be sure of, by the proof of the colour of our blood, we are one family, one world, one heart, one love under and in the eyes of God, who ever it/she/he is.....

Hi Kristin.... wouldn't it belittle God to say, it/she/he is not the stars and the whole Universe.... indeed.. The kingdom of God is inside you and all around you, from the tiniest particle to the infinite Universe.

Christopher - Jesus is every color bro because he died so we each could personally have him come unto us - Religion is a business and they had the Romans nail him to the cross because he was interfering with their profits - I reckon he is whatever color the person he is in is - Though I left all the seeing in color at the gate the last time I left Prison and the prison gang life that had controlled me for so long - We are all pure gold bro and thats all thats matters - YF4L, God Bless, MJ

I am morw inclined to think God is made of stars, like we are. have you ever read "the powers of 10" ? it's freaking amazing. we are stars/universes/galaxy's/space, and we are a part of the whole (God) so doesn't that make God space, too? love the thinkers. :) Love, me

a man with cause to make things different..can our words make a difference..damn right they can..can they bring people to action..absolutely.....so I applaud you for the genius that you are..I applaud the many soldiers with verses that spit fire regardless of what the masses may think..I write becasue it is my life..i write to be provactive and evocative...and your poems brother Colin takes me down avenues that I have never travelled..continue to be the voice of reason and understanding..cont

pearly gates If God, Jesus, whomever is a negro...so the point of this i think in my humble opinion is not to focus on the color thing but rather the message...the message is that many of us have made the color thing an issue..we are too nearsighted to see beyond race..we are too caught up in image and status...I am so into this piece because you are a soldier my brother..a real soldier and man with a vision for the world beyond its current state..cont

and thier minute way of thinking..the world is moving and people and viewpoints are changing..was Jesus a blackman?..maybe..but who cares...the point of this poem is that we can't get past the blue eyes, blond hair of thinking..we can't accept anything that doesn't resemble us..how many of us would rather go to hell today than go to heaven if we found out that the almighty was a negro?..the south would all line up at hell's gate because many of them would never set foot through those ..cont

In Jamaica when something is out of this world, the word on the street is that it is PURE FIRE!!!...you have brought the heat and truth and prespective from a soldier whose eyes are able to see in the soul of all human kind..this piece of art confuses those who are still unable to see..they are unable to see because they can't go beyond their surroundings..they are unable to see the world and the plight of the world..they are only concern about their little corners..cont

why does everything have to be color and radical? why god just be god? why does everything have to be radical? do you we get to heaven just because he is black or white? why does everything have to be about color and radical? enjoy your day.
