Black Folks
why are Black people the most hated on this earth?
Is it because they fear our tenacity and our worth ?
Black folk are the originators of civilized humanity
also the survivors of chattel slavery,
the greatest human atrocity
they want to erase our culture, our craft and our creativity
they hate the fact that we are the original royalty
kings, queens and communities
who built empires and dynasties
educated and sophisticated people
who invented damn near everything you see
The hate us not because we're weak
but because of our power
for we rose up and continue to rise
even at our darkest hours
the soundtrack of the world came from
Black resilience, Black joy and Black pain
from the Middle Passage to Reconstruction
to Civil Rights we resist and we still remain
we are the blueprint of civilization.
they want our rhythm but not our blues
they want the sauce but not the souls
who crafted the tools
we're the originators, the innovators,
the heartbeat of all society
survivors of slavery, but also creators
of the greatest cultural contribution you will ever see
we are excellent, we are legacy.
we are the dreamers and the most influential.
the most studied, the most imitated,
the most envied and have the most credentials
we are ancient, we are the foundation.
we are the Motherland.
we are brilliant. we are strong. we are great
and proudly we will always stand
