Hi Gert. Well, they say cats have nine lives. I hope it made it across the street... giving and receiving that good luck NEEDED! (Thank you for reading and commenting on my poetry.) Good luck to you! Lovingly, Dane Ann

Hmm, I thought black cats were signs of bad luck. But I'd rather think of any feline as a good omen, Gert. Cats move so quickly; it's the cars that get in THEIR way. Felines own the road, you know. Excellent haiku! Love, Carolyn

Great Haiku that is contrary belief from some beliefs in America. There is a saying in America in some people it means bad luck. I don't put much in store to the sayings like that but I guess if one did it would rule their lives.

Hey, a twist on an old superstition. I like that, Gert. this reminds me when my mom saw a black cat in front of her car one day. We were all kids. She turned the car completely in the other direction to "reverse" the affect of the "curse" hahaha. My mom was so funny too about walking under ladders and open umbrellas in the house! Luv, andrea
