Black and white, white and black;
Is one something, the other it’s lack?
They go well together each piano key,
On the written page, and old photography.
White and black, black and white;
Doesn’t always look quite right.
Depending on your contrast setting,
Shades of gray might be all you’re getting.
White and black, black and white;
The presence or absence of light?
Manipulated by shutter speed and lens,
Or repetitive thatching with black pens.
White and black, black and white;
The artist must decide what is right.
On the page, what’s most reflective
Depends entirely on the viewer's perspective.
