Bittersweet Poetry

You up and left without a trace or saying goodbye
Embracing my pillow, heartbroken, tears in my eyes
Asking the lord forgiveness for anything that I did wrong
Because he took away my blessing after I prayed for it so long
For so many nights I prayed and lit a candle
Crying uncontrollably because this heartache is too much to handle
But in the mist of it all I started to contemplate all you did
You abused me emotionally and all along acted like a kid
I now pray to God for forgiveness of wanting to cause a sin
Because you will be the one to hurt if you come back again
My broken heart has caused me to be angry, bitter and mad
I now contemplate revenge instead of crying and being sad
I hope my heart can forgive you and I can just let you be
Because I feel sorry for you if you come back to me

Reading your poems is like going through the stages of grief; I think this relationship is over, and it is optimism I hear loudly and clearly in this poem.
