Bitterness – Versus - Forgiveness

Is there bitterness or anger locked deep in your heart?
You can’t forgive and revenge you seek as doing your part.
Your thoughts are consumed by the hurt incurred,
Your vision now blinded, your judgment blurred.

You want to make their life as miserable as they made you feel,
The looks you give them or looks that could kill.
They seem to be happy and that really gets your goat,
It’s almost like they are pushing your buttons and they stand there and gloat.

Bitterness is like poison you take and watch for them to die,
Anger the match that enflames your soul with a fire so hot, so high.
Revenge is the downfall because you could not forgive,
These are the things that will ruin your life and that is fine if you chose not to live.

These things will also keep you out of heaven if that is what you choose,
But with prayer and forgiveness you’ll find you cannot lose.
Your outlook will change and the light will shine once again,
Your life will take on a new meaning as you break free of satan’s chain.

I know from experience how bitterness will lead you down the wrong road,
And how another person can hurt you and cause you to pick up this burdensome load.
But I also know forgiveness works and the good that comes from forgiving,
It is my prayer you lay down that burden and join the ranks of the living.

Amen to that Bro Ron. So many people find it so hard to forgive. An excellent write. Thanks for sharing.
