Bitter Winter In The Midst Of Summer

Just one in six billion
As the world spins
And our feet stay on the ground
How many other broken-hearted lonely souls
Live life in limbo
As me
Lost in a sea of misery
The pain makes tears fall
An empty bed
No valentines
No love notes
Shared sunrise
But we see the sun go down
Every night
No butterfly kisses
Tenderness or care
No welcoming warm arms
No eyes to lose yourself in
And see them smile
At you
And say I love you
No one to hold your hand
No one to listen
No one who understands
The Unloved Child Inside a Man
No one to care
No one to share
The love songs
Tell lies
The rom coms
Conceived fantasies
Six Billion people in the world
Many women and girls
And you can't even get one
Missed the boat
Kills you a little more each day
And only a good Woman or Girl
Can take it away
Heal the wounds and sores
From the ravages of onesided wars
What's the point of clinging on
When there's nowhere to cling on to
And hope is nothing but a slippery slope
And you can't cope
You display your colours
But no one takes no notice
They are blind
Not exploring your heart
And mind
Time travels on
But your life stands still
Flowers never bloom
Birds don't sing
And the rain never stops
The world still spins around
With you
Or without you
Life goes on.
