Bitter Rind of Sorrow

A bitter rind of sorrow encapsulates my heart: it insulates; it separates. Insensitive the laughing throng regurgitates their song, unknowing and uncaring, blindly shoving me along. A bitter rind of sorrow encapsulates my heart. Copyright, 4/28/2014 Faye Gibson

Faye This is so full of sorrow, deepness, pain and emotion. Your hearts feelings exploded onto the page. Thank you for the sweet comment on my Butterfly poem.

Insensitive the laughing throng Regurgitates their song, Unknowing and uncaring, Blindly shoving me along....Sometimes we all feel that there are those who are putting us down..One of the last things my father told me before he died was "It doesn't matter what others say about you but what matters is what you are and know you are"..His last advice to me has helped me through some very difficult times..Be a person of character and the rest will take care of itself.Sara

Faye, this lovely poem merits reading and re-reading many times over. And each time I read it, I am left with a vision of loss amongst the crowd. The unfeeling crowd. And your "bitter rind of sorrow" allows you to go on. To mingle with the crowd. But they do not care about your loss, do they? But mingle, we must. I love your work. Peace...Sam
