BIRTHDAYS IN HEAVEN

Do they celebrate birthdays in heaven?
Or do they even care anymore?
Are there birthday cakes handed out at the pearly gates?
Do the angels know the words to “Happy Birthday?”
Or do they simply strum their golden harps and hum?
I don’t know.
Maybe.
Who would know the answer?
The Pope might know.
Though I’ve never heard the question addressed at Mass.
I hope somebody will sing to Michael today.

Another great write. Ellen. Having read this I honestly believe "Birthdays In Heaven" is Part 2 to "No One Answers." Both parts capture a poet in a quiet moment remembering someone very special on an anniversary through words that are as heartfelt as they are poignant. Cheers - Gary
