Birds Are Born To Fly
Time alters reality,
as the years go zipping by.
And yet, nothing much changes;
the same stars light the night sky.
I wish that all wars would end;
so no more soldiers need die.
But the folly of that wish;
makes the poet in me cry.
There are no superheroes,
that fight for the little guy.
And justice is far from blind;
based on the lawyer you buy.
Political corruption,
has bid common sense goodbye.
And a poor man's born to lose,
sure as birds are born to fly.
Defending democracy;
disappointment's always nigh.
For truth is the only truth;
everything else is a lie.
