Bird of Fire
Agonizing torment is within my soul
Waking up startled, wanting to be whole.
The constant conflict of perceived persona,
Withers away, and flames of her flash with awe.
The true wonder facing me is me changing.
The male façade is no longer engaging.
She sings with joy of a flamed heart
Knowing this Bird of Fire has a start.
Yes, Phoenix has risen with beautiful flames.
Mending a broken life without shame.
She has woven beauty into this heart.
Making it breathtaking, leaving no mark.
The wonder of a loving life enfolds her,
She embraces this new life knowing it’s the cure.
