Bird By the Lake

Bird by the lake,
looking over
at a duck
whose egg
has been
taken by
mr fox
who
comes
back for
desert.

Hey to you, James! I love this...I must have read it over at least 5 times. Duck à l'orange wouldn't have perchance been the dessert? :) The poem is compact, but still paints a vivid picture. The laws of nature are sometimes drastic. I feel sorry for that poor confused duck. Nice how you've written it from a bird's point of view...they truly do see many things. Love this, James...and I'm wishing you the best! God bless you and yours...Mikki
