Bird and Birdwatcher

A bird beneath the sun's gentle ray,
accosted me, "I have something to say",
and, as he took a seat and sat,
he said, "What are you lookin' at?
I'm watching you today."

be careful with birds...remember Hitchcock's movie "The Birds"--need I saw more. Don't mock the birds

Haha, believe it or not, I just saw that movie on DVD for the first time about a year ago. Yep, don't mess with those birds! Now, I'm going to have nightmares - lol.

Thanks, Andrea - I like that name! Then, if someone says, "What poetry form do you like to write, Dave?" I would just say "Shorties!"

That's true - they do watch us, I've noticed. Good question - what are they thinking?

Hello David, There’s this easy humor in letting the watcher become the watched, like the bird’s been waiting to call us out. O' that deeper truth about how little control we really have in the exchange. I first thought about the seagulls at the shore because they truly do own the place. Fun read today! Blessings, Daniel

Hi Daniel! Do you happen to live by the shore? I'm pretty close, here in CA.
