Bipolar and Me

Hello my friend, how long has it been?
10 years you say and not a day more!
Shaking hands we walk down the road,
But I thought all our seeds were sown.

Not quite you reply, I really must say
I never left you that fateful day
I just hid and let you experience life
The ups the downs and all the strife

But now I'm back, and this time to stay
I forgot to tell you, I have a new name
The names Bipolar, how do you do?
I'm here I'm afraid to torture you.

To that I just could not reply,
I sat and cried and asked why oh why?
Please don’t take away my mind
I’ll make it hard for you to find.

But you see my dear, I've already got it
I hold it close in this little locket
Day by day you will get worse
Until one day you become a ghost

But please don’t cry, you see there’s ways
Ways to help keep this at bay.
Take the pills they will help
If only just to forget yourself

But now you see I just want to die
Close my eyes and say goodbye
Take a pill or slit my wrist
Take this life to heaven’s bliss

I can’t be me any more, this much is true
You've ruined my life, but for what for?
I never asked for any of this
But now you’re here with deaths kiss.

You see my friend, I never left you
I just sat by and let life educate you.
But now you know I'm here to stay 
And I will never go away.

So next time, you feeling down and blue
Stay strong in the thought it isn't you
It’s your friend Bipolar back for some more
And Bipolar is now the side you are fighting for.
