One hundred and eleven Bilbo Baggins
Threw a party then packed his spraggins*
Went to live amongst the Elvin**
In Rivendell he found heaven


*Spraggins: man with the creaking legs.

Cute character you chose. I never heard of the word spraggins (as described in your notes) so I didn't understand how it would be used in the context in which you used it. But I enjoyed your clever take of him packing up and going to live with the elvin. I remember reading the entire trilogy in high school. I could not put it down and I thought to myself back in '73 what a great movie it would make. Then later they made the movies!! Congrats in my contest.

Andrea, I favor Science Fiction over fantasy. I recently read “Project Hail Mary” by Andy Weir. it is a fantastic book. It is being made into a movie.

Hmmm, that would make sense. i found different meanings for spraggins when I googled it but not creaking legs. Maybe this is a thing in England that I don't know about.

That you. Bilbo was elderly and I presumed he had creaking legal, so in essence he metaphorically packed his creaking legs and moved to Rivendell.

JRR Tolkien wrote and illustrated the books. I definitely recommend reading the books before watching the movies. Tolkien was a power house in literature. I do appreciate your poems. They are a delightful challenge to read.
