Bigger Than Me
So many might say, Jesus, take the wheel.
As if He will protect them from mistakes.
But slowly, over time, He does reveal
They also must give up the gas and brakes.
Alas! In life there is no guarantee.
We’re all caught up within the messy mix.
Does anybody own the warranty
When we find we are in need of a fix?
Nobody’s ever happy with this thought.
We all enjoy the feeling of control.
We somehow think we’ll undo every knot
Then on our way so casually we’ll stroll.
Eventually we learn the mystery:
Our lives are so much bigger than just me.
