Beyond Tohu and Bohu

Beyond Tohu and Bohu, where darkness covered the deep,
No form, no light, no life—only mysteries asleep;
No horizon, no beauty, no order in view,
Until God spoke His Word, and creation grew.
“Let there be light!”—and darkness had to flee,
For where God speaks, life follows faithfully.
The same voice, the same power, the same result—
What once was empty, God Himself can fill.
He takes what is broken, confused, and void,
And breathes new purpose where hope was destroyed.

When God transforms us, He separates light from night;
He calls us from darkness and leads us to light.
He doesn’t just forgive the sins we confess,
He calls us to leave them and walk in His righteousness.
Truth must be separated from error and grace,
Holiness from sin, so we seek His face.
We cannot live with both darkness and light,
With truth and compromise battling day and night.
For God changes more than our destination or view—
He changes our direction and makes all things new.
The same God of Genesis still speaks to our hearts:
“Let there be light!”—and the darkness departs.

So if Tohu and Bohu have entered your life,
If confusion has conquered and darkness feels rife,
Remember the God who created from nothing at all—
The God who spoke light and commanded it to fall.
He can bring beauty from what seems undone,
Bring hope where there’s sorrow, and victory where you’ve run.
He sets boundaries on darkness; it no longer must reign,
He turns empty places to fullness again.
The God who breathed life into dust long ago
Still breathes transformation wherever we go.
His voice still brings order, His light still breaks through—
He can transform your Tohu, your Bohu, and you.
So open your heart, surrender, and say:
“Lord, speak Your light into my darkness today.”
