Beyond the Tangled Trap

You won’t define
This heart of mine
Your vile ways
Are just a haze
You stabbed my back
Altered my track
But you will find
Uphill I'll climb
Out of this mire
My sights set higher
Than the lowly dregs
You have instead
I won't lay down
And fuss and frown
I will smile
New life inspired
You were a first
A likely worst
Your pits of fire
Tripped me awhile
I won’t step back
To your tangled trap
I am beyond
Yes I’ve moved on
And on my face
Shines new grace
