Beyond the Shore

I never knew how deep Oceans were, I've spent most of my life watching from the sand to watch with curiosity is unbearable Deny, deny, deny. the Water is too cold, I tell myself, the Water will pull you under Riptides know mercy for no man. to watch with desire is agony Deny, deny, deny the water will eat you alive, the water will swallow you whole. Sharks are circling. And you, my darling, are draped in blood. I couldn't notice the shore closing in on me. Too busy watching the waves. the sun was setting and I was out of time. Waded in gently Lost all senses when I could no longer feel the floor. Painful familiarity slipped away And all I had was uncertainty I know that it sits somewhere underneath me. But the bottom seems endless. I'm scared but face first I dive into the deep. Your love waits for me there.
