Beyond That Cloud

(…and while He had said these things, while they beheld, He was taken up; and a cloud received Him out of their sight…Acts 1:9)

Beyond that cloud I know I will find you someday.
Someday like you promised me in your word.
Your word which promised that I will see how beautiful you are.
You are beautiful, for while you got lynched, I got saved.
Saved from the jaws of my iniquity.

I know I will see you in shinning glamour.
In that shinning glamour I will see the once bruised face –
A bruised face that found me worthy of so much love.
That love that I barely deserved.

I will touch the mimed hands –
The mimed hands with which you wielded my guilt.
The guilt which I carried from my forefathers.
My forefathers who chose to remain naked,
Nakedness of your glory and mercy –
Your glory and mercy which I know I will find beyond that cloud!
