Beyond Here and Now: A Collaboration
Beyond the here and now, I flew
Into a sky, cornflower blue
No drifting clouds to block my view
I lose myself, in search of you
In respite from the noonday sun
Beneath an oak, thoughts on the run
No sooner than I had begun
You're in the frame and we are one.
I felt your presence growing near
As though you whispered in my ear.
No longer will I be in fear
That you were lost forever, dear.
I grieved for you through time apart
Wounded as if by poisoned dart.
Beneath this oak, I now impart
Vows of devotion from my heart.
*Thank you, Danny Turner,
for offering me your lines.
I hope I've done justice to your verses.
