Yes, there is always hope, but sometimes it is not easy to find. I can't imagine the despair that the people who have been touched by either hurricane, flooding, tornadoes or maybe even all three here lately must be feeling but there is still hope for them in some form. Thanks for sharing this timely one with us. Sara K

Hi Sally, I'm viewing this as a transition from D.T. to K.H. and smiling internally. Hopefully, you are good and feeling hopeful despite the trials life presents. I am thinking of you and hoping you are well. Your poems touch my heart, and I hope you do know that! Many Tys.

This is a nice mirror poem, where there's a first half, a middle line, and a second half. The second half is opposite of the first half, mirroring it. The middle line is where the change occurs. Mark Lathrop is the inventor of this form.

Wonderful poem, Sally's "Beyond Despair" revolves around the contrast between the weight of despair and the uplifting power of hope.

Sometimes very difficult to see through the gloom. I recall 40 years of (almost total gloom), everyday an awake nightmare. Your lovely poem imparts, brave strength and faithful endurance. A blessing. Thank you for sharing such light.
