Beyond Autumn
There are no more summers
Or winters, or springs
I have fallen into autumn
And as I look at my outstretched arms
I can see that my leaves are quickly falling
All about me the world sleeps
In preparation of rebirth
Flowers, cars and trees
Hide beneath a blanket
Of pure white newly fallen snow
As my house sits quietly
Lying in the shadow of the night
My cats circle round and round
Finally falling into themselves
Their tiny bodies
Jiggle and jerk
In a land of feline dreams
While the only dreams
Left to me
Are those
That cannot see
Beyond autumn
