Beware When You Write

Beware when you write
When you're incredibly buzzed
Not drunk mind you
Just life turned up to 11 or beyond
When mundane seems insane
And the rain in Spain
Seems utterly inane
Funny is hilarious
Hell, everything's hilarious
And the guilt, stress, sadness or boredom
You felt earlier
Seems flushed from the vernacular
Yet the dictionary trembles and bites
A buzzcut maddog
Frothing between violent yelps
Yet swaying to a beat we all can follow
Nothing but raw self
Rote ignition and cerebral stars
Guiding your mist and sun.

It's too bad I don't drink. maybe i could let loose and learn how to write more free!! I just don't have that free verse vibe that is so popular with publishers today. I should have been born in the romance era or something. Good one, as always!

Thx. There's always a tipping point where too much drink just isn't good for anything, let alone coherent thought. I was almost exclusively rhyme for a while, then took a turn.
