Beware the Flames

When I was very young I was told a saying, once you touch the heat of the fire, you will never want to touch it again. those who follow this saying are people that I admire. I've fallen into the same trap over and over after all the pain i endured I have yet to learn. This path is leading me towards the fire. And more then my hand will burn. Allowing the glorious blaze of the fire to consume me, is what I find hard to avoid. I let the fire take over my heart, until my entire being is destroyed. I tell myself that their is always a chance, I cling to a tiny thread of hope. Wishing that one day I will be pulled up by love, only to find the thread cut and I again fall down the slope. I still believe that one day I will be saved, someone will walk by to pull me up from the thread. Until then I must realize, I cant look behind me I must always look ahead. Although the flames may taunt and hurt me, they also keep me warm in the cold. Once you learn how to control the flame, they are truly something to behold. Love can be seen as a burning fire, mesmerizingly dangerous when it first comes into sight, but worth the pain and anguish when it is controlled. Im waiting for the day when its time for my love to ignite.
