Beware

Beware

Behold the empty days to come...
their darkness will sweep the land
Some will cry, some deny - some die
A few will come forth and take a stand
For a trail of years uncounted, prophets
and poets have cried - beware!
Big Brother blinks his Cyclopian eye
and surfs the net with an invading stare
Some day some conglomerate will
squirm into being...Hydra - Medusa...
Killing the old, the poor, the insane,
the addicted - theirs is the blood
the beast will be spilling
No one will care at all
No one will come to drive
the rough beast out of Bethlehem
These will be the death throes
of the failed species known as man

It sure seems the way you have darkly and grippingly penned it...though I cling to my old-fashioned notions of humans jousting at windmills as God executes his ineffable Divine Justice. May we arise from the ashes of the 20th and 21st centuries! Peace, Gershon

Ah, yes, we must beware; who knows who is tracking our every movement? Who knows who is figuring out who should die and win. Conspiracies are alive and well as we can see on TV; there is so much anxiety and strife now. Sad times.
