Between the Lines

Between the lines, is where you want to read,
that’s where people hurt and smile, laugh and bleed
between the lines they’ll always tell you what they really want and need,
where words aren't just something to fill the page,
simply drifting thoughts setting the stage,
entertaining our over worked minds,
when we read between the lines, where we can see a heart unfold,
where sometimes it seems kinda dark and cold,
where words can express our hope, or share a bright future being told,
between the lines can say all we truly feel about things like growing old,
between the lines, is like looking into a mirror, and seeing things a bit more clear,
between the lines, where tears will flow,
hiding the sadness we refuse to let show,
where we can truly see a souls warmth and glow,
where words so proudly let others know,
all we hold onto and all we let go,
while between the lines, we shout it out,
all we love and all we are truly about,
so the next time you read a note, a book or just a letter,
try reading between the lines, you might just understand things a little bit better
