Between

Between the caverns of the soul
lies Shangra la
if only I could reach it
perhaps through my breath
drowing out this world's racious noice

transporting myself to a time and place
where primitive liaisons lie
waiting to entice me back

I long for firmament of another time
where the simpler events are not so catastrophic
and where children can play
without fear harm
their happy buzzing nature
free from cares and troubles

Between the caverns of the soul
lies shangra la
untouched and unblemished
you can see the primitive birds
 in the sunlight
dance upon the breezes
of sweet rarified air
that purifies and transcends
air we breath today
and were love
freely given and taken
is the way of being
