Betrayal

It’s the tears that get me
the tears
every time
I want to appear strong
invincible
a woman who can hold
her own
but the tears
the tears
say something different

it’s my heart that betrays me
my heart
each time
I wish to look ruthless
unrelenting
a woman who can hide
her feelings
but the heart
the heart
beats to a different drum
