Betrayal

To you I entrusted my heart, my very soul
You were my life-blood
The reason my heart continued beating
When all else said it shouldn't
We promised to be as one for all eternity.

Instead you broke that bond, shattered my heart
All those kind words, every smile
They were all a lie, a childish illusion
You left my heart in pieces, my body numb
You betrayed me in the worst possible way.

I feel nothing, no tears, nothing
You stabbed me in the back
And ripped my soul apart
Everything is gone
Except the scars you left on my heart.
