Notes About The Poem

The USA has sent over 350 billion dollars to Israel, a land settled by Europeans not indigenous Jews who actually support Palestinians, 76 years of massacres, land grabs, torture and rape, apartheid and on and on. They want to divide for example by religion, they do not care they slaughter Christians as well. "The Chosen Ones" does that not sound very familiar? If you wonder how the holocaust in world war 2 happened, and you are silent, well you now know.

Bethlehem is Closed

The birth place of Jesus
not a sound could be heard
the celebrations cancelled
surrounded by soldiers
the village living in fear
Christmas carols
only sung in silenced hearts
the oppressed shiver
with candles in the dark
snipers lurking in their nests
what dear child pray tell
will they shoot next?

Thanks for sharing this Arthur. When one side thinks it is entitled and justifies killing innocent children as necessary, we do have a serious problem. US weapons and funds are supporting this ongoing war, which has attributes of genocide. Israel is not the shining example of peace and justice they claim to be.
