Best Rondeau

We walked as one in love's embrace
Wind at our backs, sea in our face
Thinking of naught but love that night
Light of the moon, it was so bright
Seeing only my love's sweet face.

We sought no more than love and lace
The winds of fate are often base
We lose too much when out of sight
We walked as one

Destiny sometimes displays grace
A lover's fight we can embrace
A wrong word works wickedly right
An arrow shot down from the height
Too often our love is debased
We walked as one
