Best Friends

The Redwinged Blackbird and spring have come home, As if best friends…arm in arm. They warmly greet me with sun and song I said to them “What took so long”. The Redwinged answered with his beautiful call It thrilled my soul (he knew that it would) Then flashed his wings and sailed so tall. Spring embraced me with her loving rays, I smiled and dreamed of her coming days. Of warm winds and flowers and new life everywhere And all of God’s creatures emerging to declare That it’s time to celebrate and be content, Hope has come home, winter is spent.
