Best Friend

She said that we were drifting apart.
But I feel that we were close from the start
My heart was torn out from deep within
She said I had changed from what I had been

I didn’t know what to say
We used to talk every day.
Now that things had changed
I felt that I had gone deranged

Dear friend, the one who was the best
Why have you left me alone with the rest?

Gut-wrenching poetry my friend. You have described so vividly the changes which take place after an intimate love gone bad. Sometimes one or both lovers realize after a while that who they thought they loved had other issues which they hadn't know about early on and that they didn't like. Sympathy coming your way. Love can hurt.

Nice beginning to your poem. But it left me wanting more. What kind of deranged feelings did this separation cause? In the end, how did this relationship effect you? Adding more in depth detail will draw us in more.
