Best Babysitter

Your dog is your best babysitter
You can’t count on your cat
Cats never seem to care enough
And you can count on that
Your dog will let kids use them
As a pillow or a stool
And if your baby’s willing
He will lick away her drool
He will let the baby poke him
And even pull his hair
Then snuggle up beside him
And go to sleep right there
He’ll stand there at the window
While your daughters staring too
And he might even warn you
When her diapers full of poo
But don’t ask for help with bathing
And don’t let him guard her lunch
He really hates the former
And the latter? – just a hunch

Your cat, like I was saying
Thinks all humans are a bore
Just something else within their realm
That they’ll choose to ignore

This is so cute, Mike. I am a cat person and you are so right about them. They are so selfish. Enjoyed your poem. Love, Kim
