Best As Friends

So the love you told me was special
Turned out to be the love that belongs to her,
I should've known better than to trust my heart.
And so everything you told me
Was all just lies,
Or maybe they were truths,
Just not for me, huh.
I understand your love for her,
I understand how it can't be faultered.
And how the love we share is a battlefield.
You made your decision
And now I've made mine.
You cause me to not trust again
Or is it my insecure heart that causes me not to trust so quickly.
Either way,
Maybe it's best that we are friends.
